You might have heard FRV (First Person’s View) drone flight in recent days…
From DRL Youtube channel
I would believe it if you said it’s a gameplay video from PS4 but it’s real footage of drone-race flight!
I have been an enthusiast (and I AM!) for all kind of flight simulator from MS-flightsim(realistic) to Ace Combat (more ‘game’ like). I don’t forget SEGA Afterburner2 either!
But now, tech made the boundary between game and real so vague in this field. Polishing up game skill is fun on its own. And, NOW, you could bridge it to something impacting on real life.
My personal dilemma, and possibly with a commonality, has been that fun part of flight simulator (such as extreme flight maneuver) often made me ‘unrealistic’ mainly for physical-sim engine inside the software.
Despite some pilot experience, it might not be fair to say ‘unrealistic’ for such a hard-to-experience condition. However, it could be fair to say how hard it is for same reason as Computational Fluid Dynamics struggles complete simulation for time-accurate flight condition.
However, question is now going away.
Game-look FRV is broadcasted by your own physical drone flying. Unexpected aerodynamic stall is not glitch from the software anymore. It IS now so you need to recover to win!
Polishing up your DIY drone behaves with physics so you never been beaten by in-game purchase monster player unfairly (hopefully…).
Anyway, you can invest your gaming time now to real skill, which would drive you toward world-champion of Starwars podrace.

P.S. Although I buy another Switch console for new game line-ups just announced….(I really need 100 hours per day!)
