I just wonder if there could be simpler and more inspiring way of aerial shot by drone?
Talking to some clients recently, I found photo requests tend to fall into ‘cliche’ which is quick zoom-out to TV-like proper distant shot as if it would been taken by manned helicopter.
That’s golden path to pro-like result undoubtedly (mass-produced all over the net thanks to advanced gadgets these days!).
However, I personally look into ‘mid-altitude’ photo for weekend fun recently.
It’s originally inspired by a video clip taken by long selfie bar (below).

Some natural objects look so vivid at mid-range distance (which might be just above our eye sight). Great details are still on image thanks to 4K (will be 8K soon) with this distance.
I found it’s more like old-school crane shot of cinema-oriented video camera (from 16mm films date to present). So it might not be surprising this mid-range shot gives artistic impression.
A bonus is that this approach could be done budget-range drone (low weight without advanced flight control). Collision avoidance and protection are still essential though.
New tool open up new horizon of the world – just beyond selfie-bar reaches, which is fruitful shot (will be loved by Instagram).
Please give us your voice if you are flat out with zooming-out tradition:)
